SEATTLE FS 5

Originally built in 1963, this landmarked, over-water fire station was upgraded to meet current seismic, safety, and accessibility codes. Necessary renovations for crew, administrative, and support areas were required while remaining sensitive to the building’s original character-defining features. Upgrades include new PV system and solar hot water heating. Station 5 houses Engine 5, Fireboat Leschi, Fireboat 2, and Rescue Boat 5. The project received LEED Gold certification.
